Self-portrait?

Rhiannon said...

No its not me Carol...I like to draw hair looking like its moving or blowing or "messy"..not sure why I've always liked to draw something that looks like it just blew or "moved" even though its a a "still" drawing. I'm trying to think of a title for this drawing. Any ideas?

P.S. She's much prettier than I am and she has big large eyes, I don't...;-)

rhiannon-

i am totally captivated by this drawing!

your sense of proportion is outstanding! there is a softness within her eyes that seems to be lingering almost curiously.

your extremely talanted! your use of shadowing... the light is being cast from what would be her right side. you have shown this amazingly thru out the painting. the left side of her face is cast in such gentle shadows its almost surreal. great detail! great proportion! i love it! i truly do!!

and yes, she does kinda look like you! *smiles*

oh, and her hair! the texture, shadowing, and hues...wow! again, the light and shadowind is cast perfectly! light to dark. wow!

you so rock!!!!

and thank you so much for sharing your story with me last night via a comment!! i totally had a visual of the whole scene!!!! lol i am a dreamer for sure!

dream on...

Well Thank you very much Kerry. I appreciate the thoughtful "observations" about the shadows dark, light, etc. I don't see her looking like me but my hair is always a bit "wild" like hers..no matter how hard I try to "tame" it!..lol..

Oh, its a drawing by the way not a painting but I think you knew that..;-)

Blessings,
Rhi

One word: beautiful

That is a beautiful illustration...your lines have a sureness about them. Also, loved your post at Carol's on the sit. in Canada. You expressed exactly my fears too. Forunately, Canada is much more progressive than our US and probably won't be swayed by extremist. Also, they're so peaceful they don't attract too many crazies. sigh...

Peace and hugs!

Simply breathtaking, Rhia!

She reminds me of a girl my cousin married years ago. The eyes, mouth, facial features. And Ellen had reddish brown hair, w/red highlights. It's like she could have sat for this.

Thank you David..Good to see you drop by again..:-)

Thank you Emily, I used a sepia brownish pencil with this one. I usually only do that when drawing Native American Indian drawings, but thought it might be interesting when I did this. I look at her as like a "flower child" type. Well I hope the new PM in Canada has some common sense and maturity, cause things are getting rather scary, and we need to speak up more!..Thanks for stopping by again I'm going to link you, okay?

Really Carolyn? Thats cool. Like I said above I used a reddish brown pencil on this one thought it might turn out interesting that way. I think I like her eyes the best. There's just something about what they "Might" be expressing. I like for everyone to interpret how they see it as in Art each has their own interpreation of the same Artwork and I love to hear all the different thougths. Its kind of when you go to an Art gallery and people stand there looking at a piece of work "pondering" what they see and feel when they look at it.

**********************

Thank you so much Peg! Like I said you so inspire me! If they had voice on here and I could "hear" you I bet you wouldn't be "speechless"..:o)

**********************

Carol, "Lizzie" hey? Hmmm, interesting....I think its a good name! With her hair all "wild" then she must be wearing those "muddy" boots and also "skipping down the muddy grassy road"..How frightful that Darcy saw her that way!!..he he..and I think he just loved it!..for those who don't know, Carol and I are referring to one of our favorite books and movies (not the new one but the one with Colin firth..oooh..:o)) "Pride & Prejudice"..thanks for the name Carol..

*******************

So thoughtful to say Ardi, I wish I did look like her but alas no, maybe in my "heart & soul" though, always "young" in spirit too! I do so love a breezy wind blowing my hair, I look forward to spring!

***********************

Thank you Andrew, she has this look of innocence I think..thats it!..I think that was what I was trying to get.

*********************

Awwwh...I know Kerry I just didn't want other people to think it was a painting:-) I like to draw rather than paint, not sure why..Later friend

Thank all of you for such sweet thoughtful comments, it meant a lot to me I hope you all know that.

Angel blessings to everyone and peace for this world, don't give up now!
