Empty Purse....

She holds her Purse
clutched tightly
against her heart
unable to open it's contents...
for fear........
of what others may see inside....
too much clutter
and yet so empty...

I thought that you were talking more about your heart than your purse. I could be wrong though.

As most of you who are familiar with my writing and poetry know, I use metaphors a lot in my work. So I leave everything open to interpretation in how you relate to it with your own experiences and feelings.

Blessings,

Rhi

i love metaphors--they challenge the reader to seek depth and personal perspective.

your poem causes me to reflect on my own purse. although, i don't carry one, we bring forth wounds and tears with every attempt to heal.

when we freely allow others the gift of sight, we are on a journey, we want to be seen.

love yeah. great poem!
