Of all the bloggers who drift through my posts you are the only one who recognized the Whole Earth Catalog. We used to have the "first" one but it disappeared along with my copy of "Catcher In The Rye" which I wanted to re read but had to settle for "Franny and Zooey" to give a sendoff to old JD!
In fact where is my copy of "On the Road" . . . oh, there it is. Guess I haven't given away all of the old goodies.
I like to peruse others' bookshelves. Tells a lot about what people collect, read, maybe read -- left for later and what should be thrown away: such as a copy of "Future Shock" ,I see there, by Alvin Toffler written in 1970. but maybe some day . . .

I hate to name drop!
