Blood Rose Tear....
Blood Rose TearPricked my finger
on a Rose
the blood was dark as claret
in deepest Red...
Drops of blood
dripped upon a velvet petal
and fell to the ground
dewey and moist.....
Touching them with my fingertip
I put them to my tongue
a salty taste of a tear
dark as claret
in deepest Red
bitter yet sweet

Turning over a new leaf...the other side of the coin...and "Change"

Reflecting: The other side of the Coin
We all tend to look at just one side of a coin
we rarely turn it over to see whats on the other side.
Upon Reflection, it's easy to see
how we also do this in life
with other people.
It's rather like tunnel vision
never really seeing whats to the right
nor left, but just looking straight ahead
of us, a form of tunnel vision through
our eyes, minds, hearts and souls.
Upon Reflection, what would happen
if we actually turned the coin over to the other side?
Something, we've maybe never noticed or paid attention to before?
A different perspective
a different scene
a different insight
a different reality?
Upon Reflection, I've come to the conclusion
that I"m just as guilty as anyone else
only seeing one side.
Though I've written often about always trying to listen
and see "the other side" so as to try to understand others
I see clearly now
I've been maybe too busy trying to explain and get people to understand
my "side of the coin" because of the way my life seems so different
than many of my generation of Americans and the "status quo".
Yes, it hurt me to know that many rarely understood my side of the coin
no matter how hard I tried to explain, I found myself at times actually
almost being forced to defend and explain
trying to "prove" my "side" time after time.
Yet I felt I was always willing to look at others "side of the coin".
Or was I?
Upon Reflection, maybe not
I suppose I could honestly say
it wasn't done purposedly
but because of my old wounds of rarely being heard
not being in a "status quo" "box"
but "outside the box".
I put so much effort and wasted so much energy
on others judgement and false assumptions
about me.....always saying "Walk a mile in my moccashoes then you can
judge me" mentality,, that I feel maybe it's time to get some new "maccashoes"
to walk in....yours and mine....comes in all shapes and sizes
and we can share walking in them together.
Upon Reflection, maybe it's time to find some shiny new
reflecting coins...
I will lay them out all in a row
and turn each one over
and only then will my perspective "change"
Reflecting a different scene
a different side
a different story
to the "other side of the coin".
The lesson begins
my journey begins
turning over a new leaf
and a shiny new coin
to Reflect the other side..
*The pic above is one of the large leafs (from my big tree in my front yard)
that I put in my scanner and then turned over a dime and set it on the
leaf and then scanned it and then I added the text myself.

**This post is dedicated to my blog friend "Dreaming_firefly"
who through her writings on her blog
have helped me to try and understand
that there are always "two sides to a coin".
Thank you for your great wisdom and the lessons
that I have learned from you.

Over My Head....by The Fray....
I never knew
I never knew that everything was falling through
That everyone I knew was waiting on a cue
To turn and run when all I needed was the truth
But that's how it's got to be
It's coming down to nothing more than apathy
I'd rather run the other way than stay and see
The smoke and who's still standing when it clears
Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
Let's rearrange
I wish you were a stranger I could disengage
Say that we agree and then never change
Soften it a bit until we all just get along
But that's disregard
Find another friend and you discard
As you lose the argument in a cable car
Hanging above as the canyon comes between
Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
And suddenly I become a part of your past
I'm becoming the part that don't last
I'm losing you and its effortless
Without a sound we lose sight of the ground
In the throw around
Never thought that you wanted to bring it down
I won't let it go down till we torch it ourselves
Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind....
*I have a gift of being able to feel, know and "see" things before they happen
that others cannot. I will cherish and nourish this gift instead of invalidating
it. I also will no longer allow others to invalidate this ability that I am learning to
cherish, based on their own fears of denial. And I will be very careful of who I share
this gift with and also careful of boundaries.
Nor will I allow others who always want to be constantly validated
to invalidate me, nor my gifts any longer for they know me not!.*

Masters Of War Song by Bob Dylan....
Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death Planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desk
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks
You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly
Like Judas of old
You lie and decieve
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain
You that fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud
You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unamed
you ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins
How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do
Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul
And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Till I'm sure that you're dead....
*The reference to the masters of wars death and casket, represents "wars" being ended and buried to me*

Fear...
Dark snake crawls through
the space in time
it slimes and slithers
through your soul
and bites your wound
and opens it up...
blood rushes through and out
endlessly dripping
into pits
of the pain from the past
flowing out seemingly forever
until it's done
and fear is faced...
Healing begins
Healing never ends
